I think the Gangues gradually become more used to America and they aren't bothered by it that much by not living using their own culture. I find this mostly in Ashoke and Ashima mostly because they grew up with Indian culture and are now living there new lives in the US with American culture. The family is becoming more and more used to the American way and aren't using their culture as much as they used to.
In the story, there is a lot of mix of 2 cultures, Indian and American culture. The Gangulis like to do things related to their culture but at a lot of times are forced to use parts of American culture. I really like this about the story because we learn things about both cultures. By reading Namesake, I learn new things, mainly related to Indian culture in the story.
Another thing I like about this story is the flashbacks the author uses in the story. The flashbacks in the story really help explain the plot and what is going on in the story. It gives the reader new information and it also tells the reader a lot about particular events in the story. In general I like the flashbacks that are used in any book/movie but the author does a really good job of it in the story and makes me like it a little bit more.
